Professional Seamless Aluminum Gutter Installation

Why Proper Gutter Systems Matter in the Pacific Northwest

Homes throughout the Pacific Northwest experience frequent rainfall and heavy seasonal storms. When gutters are undersized, improperly aligned, or damaged, water can overflow and cause problems such as fascia damage, siding staining, soil erosion, and foundation issues. A properly designed seamless aluminum gutter system helps manage water flow and protects your home from costly water damage.

5 Inch vs 6 Inch Gutters

Example showing a standard 5-inch K-style gutter replaced with a larger 6-inch K-style gutter.

Many homes are traditionally built with 5-inch K-style gutters, which perform well for many homes and roof sizes. However, larger roof areas or homes beneath heavy tree cover may benefit from 6-inch gutters, which provide greater water capacity and improved flow.

5-Inch K style Gutter

  • Standard residential size
  • Suitable for many smaller homes
  • Limited water flow

6-Inch K style Gutter

  • Greater water capacity
  • Better performance during heavy rain
  • Handles debris flow more wfficiently

Fascia Style Gutters

Many homes in Southwest Washington and the Portland metro area were originally built with fascia-style gutters. This style was developed to better cover the fascia board at the end of the rafter tails of the roof.

When replacing them we most often recommend replacing them with the 6-inch K style, which is almost the same depth and thus covers the fascia board, but has a larger capacity and functions better to remove water and debris.

Most homeowners prefer replacing their fascia style gutters with the 6-inch K style for better water flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical Gutter Installation take?

How Long an installation takes is based on several factors:

  • Size of the house.
  • Style of the roof. A hip roof has gutters that go all around the house, vs a pitch roof may have gutters on front and back and some on the sides. Thus a 1500 sq ft house with a pitch roof could have more linear feet of gutters than a 2500 sq ft pitch roof house.
  • Ease of access to roof. Some houses are located on hillsides or have limited access
  • Weather and other natural conditions.
  • Number of installers available. We usually have two or three installers on a job
  • Most homes can be installed in one or two days.

Do your gutters come in different colors?

Yes, we have about 30 different colors to offer and help you choose the right one. You can also have different colors for the gutters and downspouts. There is no extra charge for different colors.

I plan on getting a new roof, should I wait until that is complete before I consider new gutters?

Not necessarily. Although the gutters are attached to the roof, they are two separate projects. A roof can be installed without removing the gutters, and installing new gutters does not interfere with the roof project. However if there is currently roof damage that involves replacing/repairing around where the gutters will be installed then the roof should be fixed or replaced first.

Do you repair the fascia boards or rafter tails as part of your installation?

Yes if needed we can repair/replace fascia boards, soffit, rafter tails as needed to ensure that your gutters are installed properly and that no further damage will happen.
